Texas Heat Before Summer Calls For Summer Shorts!
Now, most of you know I am 37 years old, mom of four kids, and wife to a wonderful supportive husband. And with that said, I want to also share that in my late 30's, I still wear shorts, despite what many say! I've heard people say you cannot wear shorts after 30, I'm still doing it! I've heard people say shorts are just for girls and teenage girls, I don't think so! You see, because as long as I am confident in shorts and gravity allows me to wear them, I will style them to my liking (chic and street style)!
So, ladies, don't ever let anyone tell you that you cannot wear something! You are the ultimate decision maker in your wardrobe choices, and if you are comfortable in your skin, go for it! As I have said before, you make the outfits, don't let the outfits make you!
The first look below is chic in shorts! I love the front tie, back elastic waist band, and stripes. The top comes with a ribbon belt, but for today's look, I tucked it in and made it work! The top and shorts are from New York and Company and I have linked each one at the end of all my photos! My block heels are from Payless (older purchase) and I have also linked them below!
The second look below was fun and flirty! The top was a deal find at my local Family Dollar for just $10! And the striped paper-bag waist linen shorts were $6.99 clearance find at my local Ross Dress for Less Department Store! I added the wooden clutch and tan suede heels (old purchase) with tassel earrings to complete my look! Styled on a budget for sure y'all!
Shorts in late Spring and Summer will be my wardrobe staple since Texas tends to have triple digit weather most of late Spring and all Summer long! So if my social platforms showcase lots of shorts, you guys know why! I hope you find chic, pretty shorts for Summer if you are on the hunt! And if you aren't sure, try some on, maybe you will find a favorite pair!
