Do You Resale Shop?! Reasons Why I Love It!

Happy Sunday Babes!

I don't know how many of you can honestly say you are okay with resale shopping or actually be comfortable saying you do!  Well, let me tell you all, I love it and don't mind it at all!  Coming from a family of five, my mother was the biggest thrift store, yard sale, and hand-me-down Queen!  She believes in saving money and getting deals on the number one thing we all use and dispose of on the regular, clothes!

And I am being brutally honest when I say, I was never embarrassed or ashamed to say where my clothing came from or how my mother got them!  I even remember shopping garage sales on my own in high school and being proud of finding pretty and gently used clothing, even designer and name brands!

Today as a mother of four, you will still find me shopping resale stores for my kids!  Yes, you will find me at my local Kid To Kid, Plato's Closet, and Uptown Cheapskate!  Even Goodwill stores for vintage items for myself!  I can't say I shop resale stores 100% but I will from time to time when I know its on items my kids will use a lot and wear out quickly!  And I have an eye for new with tag items!  Yes, this Mom has found designer clothing, shoes, and handbags new with tags!  I have found new with tags clothing and shoes for my kids and husband as well!

The look I styled below, I will break down for you all!  The Talbot's striped dress I found at my local Clothes Mentor resale shop new with tag!  The dress originally $109.00, I found for just $25.00!  The Mossimo denim shorts are from Target, but I found them gently used at my local Plato's Closet for just $5.00.  My tank is from Kohls and was $4.99 and the shoes I've had for a few Season's!

With that said, I hope if you do shop resale and thrift stores, you are proud to own it!  What other's don't wear or sell to these resale stores, is my treasure!  Especially when you find classic pieces that you can wear Season after Season!

Classic pieces I look for that I can wear Season after Season are: classic black, navy, and grey blazers, dark denim, white button down blouses, simple classic solid color maxi dresses, floral dresses and skirts for Spring, and classic red, white, nude, and black pumps! Trends come and go, and it's also fun when I find trendy items dirt cheap!  But i get really excited when I find classic items especially items that are new with tags!

As always, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog posts!  I am truly grateful for my loyal faithful audience!  Love you all!
